NATRAX, NAMTECH Sign MoU To Advance Automotive Skills And R&D Collaboration
The partnership will focus on industry-aligned training, automotive research, student engagement and emerging mobility technologies, with an emphasis on strengthening industry-academia collaboration.
The National Automotive Test Tracks (NATRAX) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with NAMTECH (New Age Makers Institute of Technology), an initiative of ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India, to collaborate on skill development, research and innovation for the automotive and advanced manufacturing sectors.
The partnership aims to combine NATRAX's automotive testing, certification and research infrastructure with NAMTECH's engineering education programmes to support training in emerging mobility and manufacturing technologies.
Under the agreement, the two organisations will work together on knowledge dissemination and student projects in areas including electric mobility, hydrogen mobility, alternative fuels, smart automotive manufacturing and lightweighting. The collaboration will also cover the development of industry-oriented curricula and advanced skilling programmes aligned with evolving industry requirements.
The MoU further provides for student internships, live industry projects and experiential learning opportunities. In addition, both organisations will jointly support startup mentoring initiatives, hackathons and innovation programmes aimed at encouraging technology development within the mobility sector.
The collaboration will also extend to sustainability-focused initiatives, including green mobility and the circular economy, alongside joint conferences, workshops and knowledge-sharing platforms involving industry and academia.
According to the organisations, the collaboration is intended to strengthen industry-academia engagement, support innovation in automotive technologies and help develop a skilled workforce aligned with the future needs of the mobility and advanced manufacturing sectors.
