MG Group Unveils TIGRA Super-Premium Coach, Launches New Corporate Identity

MG Group, one of India's leading privately-owned bus and coach manufacturers, unveiled its TIGRA super-premium intercity coach and launched a new corporate identity at an event held at The Royal Senate, Palace Grounds in Bengaluru on Monday. The company introduced the luxury vehicle designed and manufactured at its Belagavi facility, targeting both domestic and international markets with availability on all 13.5-meter coach chassis.

The launch event, branded as "RE:BORN," was attended by MG Group's leadership team including Chairman and Managing Director Anil Mohan Kamat, President - Strategy and Sales Sivakumar V., and Chief Operating Officer Gireesha Prabhu, along with customers, suppliers, and technology partners from the automotive and mobility sectors.

The new corporate identity represents the completion of a decade since MG's entry into the premium coach segment. The redesigned logo features an uninterrupted flow from M to G, symbolizing a journey from concept to market, with a hexagonal silhouette inspired by a metal bolt.

"This new identity signals a shift in our market positioning—we're no longer just a reliable vendor behind the scenes. We are stepping forward as a brand that leads with innovation, design, and premium product offerings like TIGRA."

TIGRA Features and Specifications

The TIGRA coach incorporates several premium features for long-haul intercity and tourism applications:

  • ABS-moulded plush interiors with no sharp edges or visible fasteners
  • Integrated ambient lighting and premium berth and seat upholstery
  • Full-length Daytime Running Lights (DRLs) with heartbeat-style light strip
  • High-quality PU moulded assistance handles for passenger safety

"In the bus and coach body-building industry, progress is never overnight. It's built on strong relationships, consistent quality, and the ability to evolve with changing transportation needs," said Sivakumar V, President - Strategy & Sales, MG Group. "The Tigra is going to a segment leader from day one, we are optimistic of that."

Production will be undertaken at MG's coach manufacturing facility in Belagavi, Karnataka, which has received substantial investments in tooling, jigs, and quality systems for high-output manufacturing.

Market Position

Established in 1980, MG Group operates manufacturing facilities in Belagavi, Karnataka, and Zaheerabad, Telangana. The company has delivered over 125,000 bus bodies across diverse applications including school, staff, intercity, luxury, mofussil, and special-purpose segments such as defense and ambulance applications.
