Mercedes-Benz Launches Maybach S 580e PHEV at Rs 3.35 Crore

Mercedes-Benz India launched the Mercedes-Maybach S 580e plug-in hybrid on Monday, marking the debut of the luxury brand's first electrified Maybach model in the domestic market. Priced at Rs 3.35 crore (ex-showroom), the flagship limousine is restricted to an initial allocation of 30 units for sale in India.

The Maybach S 580e replaces the 4.0-litre V8 with a 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder petrol engine paired with an electric motor, generating a combined system output of 585 hp and 750 Nm of torque.

The plug-in hybrid system features a 22 kWh usable battery capacity, delivering a WLTP-certified all-electric range of up to 98 km, which translates to approximately 100 km of real-world electric driving. The vehicle supports 11 kW AC charging alongside 60 kW DC fast charging, allowing electric-only operation up to a top speed of 140 km/h.

"We are seeing rising demand for Plug-In-Hybrid among our top-end customers, and the Maybach S 580e combines the timeless exclusivity, handcrafted luxury and iconic luxury of a Maybach with the convenience of a plug-in hybrid technology," Santosh Iyer, Managing Director and CEO, Mercedes-Benz India, said.
