Mahindra Reports 50% Surge in Domestic Tractor Sales for September 2025

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.'s Farm Equipment Business announced significant growth in its September 2025 tractor sales, with domestic sales reaching 64,946 units compared to 43,201 units in the same month last year, marking a 50% year-on-year increase.

The company attributes the strong performance to multiple factors, including the recent reduction in Goods and Services Tax (GST) rates, which benefited customers, and the timing of the Navratri festival occurring in September this year rather than October as in the previous year.

Total tractor sales, including both domestic and export markets, stood at 66,111 units for September 2025, up from 44,256 units in September 2024, representing a 49% growth. Export sales for the month totaled 1,165 units, reflecting a 10% increase over the previous year's 1,055 units.

Veejay Nakra, President of the Farm Equipment Business at Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., linked the sales boost to the Prime Minister's GST rate reduction decision, which drove increased purchases during the first nine days of Navratri. He also cited supporting factors such as a favorable Kharif crop outlook, expanded cultivation area this season, and above-normal monsoon conditions.

For the year-to-date period ending September, Mahindra's domestic tractor sales reached 247,336 units, up 20% from 206,236 units in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year.

Total sales including exports climbed to 257,025 units, compared to 214,849 units, also registering 20% growth.

Mahindra Group, founded in 1945, is one of India's largest multinational conglomerates with 260,000 employees across more than 100 countries. The company holds the distinction of being the world's largest tractor manufacturer by volume.
