KPIT Technologies Opens New Technology Center in Sweden
Swedish expansion aims to strengthen European presence and enhance collaboration with regional automotive manufacturers.
KPIT Technologies has inaugurated a new technology center in Gothenburg, Sweden, marking its first facility in the Nordic region and expanding its global footprint in key mobility hubs. The center, located at Lindholmen Science Park, was officially opened yesterday amid representatives from Swedish automotive manufacturers, academic institutions, and government officials.
The new facility positions KPIT closer to leading Swedish and European OEMs in a region known for automotive innovation. Located in Sweden's automotive R&D ecosystem, the center enables KPIT to collaborate more efficiently with regional partners while leveraging local talent.
Sachin Tikekar, President and Joint MD of KPIT Technologies, explained the strategic importance of the location: "Sweden is a powerhouse of innovation, especially around safe and sustainable mobility, with Gothenburg at its epicenter. Our presence here allows us to be physically closer to leading Swedish and European OEMs, enabling faster collaboration and solving their core business challenges with our software, hardware design and manufacturing engineering capabilities. We are excited to work with local talent, harness Sweden's focus on technology and green transition, and co-develop solutions for challenges of mobility OEMS globally."
The Gothenburg facility complements KPIT's existing European operations in Germany, UK, France, and Italy, strengthening its delivery network that also includes locations in the USA, Japan, China, Thailand, India, and Tunisia.
Patrik Andersson, CEO of Business Region Göteborg, welcomed the investment: "This is a strategically important investment for the Gothenburg region. KPIT Technologies specializes in software development and integration for the automotive and mobility sector, employing approximately 13,000 professionals worldwide. The company focuses on embedded software, AI, and digital solutions to advance software-defined vehicles and next-generation mobility technologies.
The inauguration event at Lindholmen Science Park included participation from automotive OEMs, academic leaders, and Swedish government representatives.
