John Deere Unveils 130HP Tractor and Precision Tech at India Agriculture Show
The American agricultural equipment maker introduced four new technologies for Indian farmers, including its first factory-fitted GPS guidance system and radial tire upgrades.
Deere & Company, the Illinois-based manufacturer of agricultural and construction equipment, held its Power & Technology Show in India this week, where it officially unveiled the 5M series 5130M tractor rated at 130 horsepower. The event also served as a platform to introduce four additional technology features aimed at improving farm productivity and reducing input costs for Indian growers.
Among the technologies presented were a Front Hitch and Front PTO application for the 5130M, the 5E AutoTrac™ straight-row vehicle guidance system, the GreenSystem™ Link factory-fitted connectivity kit, and a full radial tire upgrade for the 5405 and 5075E models. Company representatives said the additions are intended to align mechanisation options with evolving agronomy practices across India's diverse farming regions.
Rajesh Sinha, Managing Director and Country Manager for John Deere India, noted the company's broader role in the country, which spans research and development, engineering, global IT, supply chain management, and road construction in addition to manufacturing. He said India remains a significant and strategically important market for global operations.
Sales and Marketing Director Ramakant Garg described the Power and Technology Show 7.0 as a continuation of John Deere's commitment to introduce technology suited to local conditions. The company stated that its products are exported to 110 countries from its Indian operations.
Mukul Varshney, Region 1 Government Affairs Director, referenced India's national sustainability goals for 2047, stating that the company intends to deepen collaboration with academic institutions, research bodies, and industry stakeholders. John Deere has maintained a presence in India for more than 27 years.
