Honda Car India readying Elevate Dark, City Sports edition

Honda recently launched the Elevate Apex Edition in India to boost sales of the SUV in the festive season. Now, the brand is set to bring out two more limited-run models – of the Elevate SUV and City sedan – that bring about a number of cosmetic changes.

Honda Elevate Dark: what to expect

Considering its name, the Elevate Dark is likely to get an all-black paint with chrome elements being replaced by blacked-out elements. As no mechanical changes are expected, the Elevate Dark will continue with the 121hp, 1.5-litre petrol engine, which comes with manual and CVT gearbox options. We expect it will be based on the top-spec version, which would mean a slight increase in price over the current ZX trim’s Rs 15.21 lakh-16.43 lakh.

Honda City Sports: what to expect

Again, the name of the special edition model gives us a good indication of what we will see. The City Sports edition will likely get decals and different alloy wheels, among other cosmetic changes on the inside and outside. The powertrain options, which are shared with the Elevate, will continue unchanged. Honda is expected to charge a slight premium for the City Sports edition over the standard model, which is currently priced between Rs 11.82 lakh-16.35 lakh.

While Honda is scheduled to bring the City Sports edition to the market after Diwali (by end-November), the Elevate Dark was expected by March next year. However, sources have confirmed that Honda dealers have requested the company to bring the SUV’s launch forward. Stay tuned to this space for more details.
