GreenLine Mobility partners with Exide industries to introduce LNG trucks in logistics
The collaboration integrates GreenLine’s LNG-powered trucks into Exide Industries’ supply chain, aiming to reduce environmental impact and enhance logistics efficiency.
GreenLine Mobility Solutions Ltd, a company under Essar's Green Mobility initiative, has partnered with Exide Industries, a prominent battery manufacturer in India, to incorporate LNG-powered trucks into Exide’s logistics operations. The initiative is intended to support Exide's efforts toward achieving a more sustainable supply chain.
The collaboration involves the use of GreenLine’s LNG-powered fleet, designed to reduce environmental impact while maintaining efficiency and reliability in long-haul transportation. These trucks offer features such as real-time vehicle monitoring, predictive analytics, and safety enhancements. With a range of up to 1,200 km on a single tank, the vehicles aim to provide a practical and sustainable alternative to diesel-powered trucks.
The use of LNG-powered trucks is expected to help Exide Industries reduce Scope 3 emissions, which are associated with logistics and supply chain activities. The partnership reflects Exide’s approach to integrating sustainability into its operations while ensuring supply chain performance.
Anand Mimani, CEO of GreenLine Mobility Solutions Ltd, described the partnership as an effort to align logistics practices with environmental goals in the battery manufacturing sector. He noted that the collaboration focuses on optimizing logistics while addressing emission reduction objectives.
Avik Roy, Managing Director and CEO of Exide Industries Ltd, highlighted the company’s focus on sustainability and stated that integrating LNG-powered trucks is part of its broader environmental strategy.
GreenLine Mobility currently operates a fleet of over 500 LNG-powered trucks and plans to add 1,000 more vehicles by March 2025. This expansion is aimed at meeting the growing demand for environmentally responsible logistics solutions.
