Chartered Speed Expands Public Transport Services with Electric Bus Deployment

Chartered Speed has secured a contract from Convergence Energy Services Limited (CESL) to operate over 900 electric buses under the Pradhan Mantri e-Bus Sewa Scheme. The initiative will see the deployment of these buses across 13 cities in three states—Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, and Meghalaya.

The company will be responsible for procuring, operating, and maintaining the electric buses, which are expected to serve more than 2.9 lakh passengers daily. Additionally, the project is anticipated to create over 2,000 job opportunities. The cities where these buses will be introduced include Raipur, Durg-Bhilai, Bilaspur, Korba, Ajmer, Alwar, Bikaner, Bhilwara, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Kota, Udaipur, and Shillong.

Chartered Speed is a transportation service provider in India, operating in the B2G (business-to-government), B2B (business-to-business), and B2C (business-to-consumer) sectors. The company manages a fleet of buses for urban and intercity travel, offering services across multiple states. Its operations focus on both conventional internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles and electric buses, with a gradual shift toward sustainable mobility solutions.

Chartered Speed currently operates more than 1,800 buses across states such as Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, and Assam. These services cater to a significant number of daily commuters and are supported by a workforce of several thousand employees. The company provides transportation services through both government contracts and private-sector partnerships, facilitating daily travel for passengers across different regions.

In addition to its bus operations, Chartered Speed has been exploring opportunities to integrate electric and alternative fuel-powered vehicles into its fleet. The company’s transition toward greener transportation aligns with broader industry trends promoting lower emissions in public mobility solutions.
