BKT Becomes Official Tyre Partner for All Teams in India's Women's T20 Championship
Tyre manufacturer expands sports portfolio with partnerships across five franchises in premier women's cricket competition
Balkrishna Industries Ltd. (BKT), a global off-highway tyre manufacturer, has announced partnerships with all five teams in India's premier women's T20 championship for the upcoming season. The company will serve as the Official Tyre Partner for Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Delhi Capitals, Gujarat Giants, and UP Warriorz.
The move represents an expansion of BKT's involvement in cricket, building on its existing global partnerships in the sport. The company currently maintains a year-long partnership with Cricket Australia and recently served as Naming Partner for India's ODI and T20 tour in Australia.
Rajiv Poddar, Joint Managing Director at BKT, said the partnerships align with the company's strategy of supporting sporting platforms that promote inclusion and high performance. He noted that the association strengthens BKT's cricket portfolio while supporting the development of women's cricket in India.
Team representatives welcomed the partnerships. Delhi Capitals CEO Sunil Gupta highlighted BKT's previous association with the franchise's IPL team and described the expansion into women's cricket as creating shared value. Mumbai Indians noted their existing five-year partnership with BKT, calling the women's cricket collaboration a natural extension of that relationship.
BKT's sports marketing strategy spans multiple disciplines globally, including partnerships with Monster Jam, La Liga, Serie BKT football, EuroLeague Basketball, and rugby championships. The company works with RISE Worldwide as its exclusive sports consulting agency in India.
The partnerships come as women's cricket in India continues to grow as a professional ecosystem, with increasing visibility and opportunities for athletes at various career stages.
