Tata Motors inaugurates flagship showroom in Mumbai
Mumbai, January 3, 2013: Tata Motors has opened its new flagship showroom in Prabhadevi, Mumbai. Spanning 4,400 square feet, the new showroom features a lounge area, Wi-Fi connectivity, a café and a children’s play area. The showroom also features video walls where customers can configure their cars using tablet PCs, along with a merchandise wall which includes a range of accessories and lifestyle merchandising.

Inaugurating the showroom, Ranjit Yadav, president, Passenger Car Business Unit, Tata Motors, said: “Customer centricity is the hallmark of Tata Motors. As desired by today’s Indian motorist, the showroom offers best-in-class service in a stylish and premium format to enhance the buying experience of our brands. This new look and feel will be extended to the rest of the network as well and will herald a slew of customer-centric initiatives that we will unveil over the next 12-18 months. We are committed to anticipating and providing the best vehicles and experiences that excite our customers globally.”

At present, Tata Motors has over 1,000 sales points across India; it plans to open another four to five outlets across all the metros in the first quarter of 2013.

Given the current sales momentum for Tata in the domestic market, the carmaker has its task well cut down. In December 2012, it sold 14,185 cars as against 28,916 units sold in December 2011, a 51 percent decline. The December 2012 sales included 11,257 units of the Nano, Indica, Indigo range and 2,928 units of Sumo, Safari, Aria and Venture vehicles. However, according to the company, the newly introduced Manza Club Class and Safari Storme are doing well in their respective segments.
