Schwing Stetter India’s MD appointed president of ICEMA

The Indian Construction Equipment Manufacturers’ Association (ICEMA), the representative body for the construction equipment industry in India, has announced the appointment of Anand Sundaresan, vice- chairman and managing director, Schwing Stetter India, and Arvind Garg, vice-president – Head - Construction & Mining business of L&T, as president and vice-president respectively of the association for 2 years with effect from July 1. They will be responsible for strategic initiatives of the association to achieve its objectives and act as a catalyst for the construction equipment industry.
The appointments were made at the AGM ICEMA held on July 10, 2015 coinciding with a two-day national conference on highway equipment in New Delhi. The conference focused on all aspects of highway equipment with sessions on the prospects and potential, standard and best practices and IT, economics and financing.
Commenting on the appointment, Anand Sundaresan said, “ICEMA has been instrumental in promoting the construction equipment industry in India that has led to the progressive growth of our country’s infrastructure. I will ensure that, as president, my expertise and experience makes significant contribution to the growth of the construction equipment industry in India.”
Anand Sundaresan has over three decades of experience in various Indian and multinational companies. He joined Schwing Stetter India in 1999 as executive director. In January 2002, he became its managing director and was elevated to his current position in 2013. He has helped steer the business of Schwing Stetter India by introducing best-of-breed products backed by German technology for the Indian construction industry.
