US-based car audio system manufacturer Rockford Fosgate has partnered with Blaupunkt India to market and distribute its products in the country through an exclusive distribution agreement.

The company will offer its products in three ranges starting with the entry level Prime series alongside the premium segment Punch and Power series. The initial portfolio of speakers, amplifiers and subwoofers are priced starting from Rs 4,000 for the entry level products and go up till Rs 97,000.

Known for manufacturing high performance audio equipment for automotive, marine and power sports applications globally, Rockford Fosgate incorporates some of the most state-of-the-art facilities and use of technology to offer a unique audio experience.

Established in 1980, the company has a large presence in the global car audio aftermarket and is also a supplier of factory line products to international car OEMs like Nissan, Mitsubishi, Fiat and Suzuki.

Speaking on the association with Blaupunkt in India, William R Jackson, president and chief executive officer of Rockford Corporation, said: “India is an exciting market, lending a wide and diverse audience base for our products. It is great to have Blaupunkt India on board, a brand that has built strong credibility in the country, as our trusted partner in our journey to establish Rockford Fosgate as an indomitable brand with Indian consumers.”

The company is looking at good initial volumes from the aftermarket segment in India, given that a majority of entry level cars in the country come without factory fitted car audio systems. It is also working on entering in strategic partnerships with Indian OEMs for factory line products in the near future.

In India, the company’s Prime range of products will be available through Blaupunkt’s large base of over 130 dealerships, while the high-end Power and Punch range of products will only be available through a select premium dealer channel.

According to Pankaj Jagwani, director, Blaupunkt India, “Each sound line that we are dealing with is a spectacular range of products and we are certain that the Indian market is more than ready to welcome it at this point. Rockford’s decision to trust us with this world renowned brand is a testament to the customer focus and market understanding of the Blaupunkt team in India.’’

All the Rockford-branded products to be sold in India will be shipped from the contract manufacturing facilities located in the ASEAN region, Jackson added.
