Renault reveals Captur crossover ahead of India launch
Renault Captur to come with 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engine options; likely launch next month.
Renault India has revealed the upcoming Captur crossover which is slated to hit showrooms next month. Bookings for the Captur open today.
The Captur for India is based on the M0 platform which also underpins the Duster SUV. It is 4,329mm long, 1,813mm wide and 1,613mm tall, and has a wheelbase of 2,673mm. Ground clearance is at 210mm. The Captur for India will come with two engine options: the familiar 1.5-litre K9K diesel good for 110hp which also powers the Renault Duster and the Nissan Terrano, and the 1.5-litre petrol which churns out 106hp and 142Nm of torque.
Safety features on the crossover include dual front airbags, ABS with EBD and brake assist. Renault has stated that the Captur is also certified for offset frontal and lateral crash.

The Renault Captur will further strengthen our position in the highly buoyant SUV market and will set new benchmarks with its unique styling and unmatched road manners.”
The Captur line-up will include a number of variants including a fully loaded top-spec variant called Platine which will include features like LED headlamps with daytime running lamps and Audi-like dynamic turn indicators, and 17-inch alloy wheels.
Renault will offer a long list of personalisation options for the Captur, which include unique interior and exterior bits like contrast roof options and graphics.
