Maxxis India’s dealer network crosses the 1,000 mark

Maxxis India, part of the global Maxxis Group, has crossed the 1,000 dealership landmark in India, with 1,018 dealerships across 325 cities, within just 12 months. This speedy milestone is an indication of Maxxis’ aggressive growth outlook for the Indian tyre market.

The West region (which includes Gujarat, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Goa and Madhya Pradesh) accounts for the highest number with a total of 504 dealers including 210 in Gujarat, 107 in Maharashtra and 106 in Madhya Pradesh. The North region (which includes Punjab, Haryana, Delhi NCR, J&K, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand), the dealership count is 236 with 87 in Punjab and 83 in Uttar Pradesh. In the South (Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka) there are 195 Maxxis dealers with Tamil Nadu the biggest with 118 dealers. And the North East region (Assam, Tripura, Manipur, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram and Nagaland) has 49 dealerships.

Maxxis India has a sharpened focus on digitisation and business analytics. In line with this, the dealer locator on the company website directs the customer to the nearest Maxxis dealership and also enables him/her to call or get directions to the nearest dealership via Google navigation from the listing on the site.

Commenting on the dealer network, Bing-Lin Wu, marketing and retail sales head, Maxxis India, said, “As we make deeper inroads in the country, network expansion is a critical part of enhancing the customer experience. In order to realise the potential of the market, we are making our tyres more accessible to the customers and ensuring best-in-class services across all our dealerships. We are very pleased with the pace of growth in India as it is a priority market for us and we have a strong commitment to grow our presence in the country.”

To strengthen its relationship with existing and new dealer partners, Maxxis India has been conducting dealers’ meets and activations across India. The company says these dealer meets aims to enhance reach in the regional market and facilitate dealers to provide seamless customer service, and help brand expand its reach to a wider customer base and in Tier 2 and 3 cities.

“Owing to the robust dealer engagement activities and customer-centric polices, we witnessed a tremendous growth spurt with the on-boarding of the last 100 dealers within a short span of two weeks. We have conducted 8 dealers’ meets across 8 cities so far and intend to keep the momentum going in 2019,” added Bing-Lin Wu.

Targeting a big share of the India tyre market
The India market is touted to play a vital role in achieving Maxxis’s global vision to become one of the top 5 tyre manufactures in the world by 2026.  Maxxis India inaugurated its first manufacturing facility in Sanand, Gujarat in March this year and is targeting a market share of at least 15 percent of India’s two-wheeler tyre market within 5 years.

Maxxis India’s Sanand plant has a production capacity of around 20,000 tyres and 40,000 tubes per day. Maxxis says that it currently serves as an OEM tyre supplier to Honda (Two-wheelers), Maruti Suzuki India, Mahindra & Mahindra, Tata Motors and Jeep in India.
