Maruti Baleno zips past 500,000 sales in India in 38 months
Launched in October 2015, the Baleno has notched the half-a-million sales landmark in just 38 months, which gives it a strong monthly average of 13,157 units or 438 cars each day.
Maruti Suzuki India is notching new sales milestones, not surprising since the company continues to maintain a stranglehold on the best-selling Top 10 Passenger Vehicles in India country. Two days after the company announced that the Swift has clocked two million sales since the hatchback’s introduction in India in May 2005 comes news that the premium Maruti Baleno hatchback has crossed 500,000 unit sales in India.
Launched in October 2015, the Baleno has notched the half-a-million sales landmark in just 38 months, which gives it a strong monthly average of 13,157 units or 438 cars each day.
Commenting on the milestone, R S Kalsi, senior executive director, Marketing & Sales, Maruti Suzuki India, said, “The Baleno has become a resounding success in the highly competitive premium hatchback segment. It is a testimony of our best-in-class technology and customer experience. Our engineers have ensured that the Baleno offers superior ride and handling, class-leading performance and safety. With a staggering 20.6 percent growth in the first half of 2018-19, the Baleno has been among the top selling cars in India since 2016.”
The Baleno, which is exclusively manufactured in India, is also the first car to be exported from India to Japan. It has also been receiving a strong response in global markets such as Australia, Europe, Latin America and East Asia.
