Yamaha’s domestic sales, clubbed with export shipments, have seen it ride past the 100,000 units milestone for two consecutive months now.

India Yamaha Motor has announced 22% growth in domestic sales (including Nepal) in October 2016.

The company sold a total of 86,428 units (October 2015: 70,812 units). India Yamaha attributes the sales increase to its expansive line-up coupled with customer-centric activities. Its sharper focus on expanding to Tier 2 and 3 cities, helping it to reach out to larger groups of its target population, has also been instrumental in boosting sales.

Yamaha’s domestic sales, clubbed with export shipments, have seen it ride past the 100,000 units milestone for two consecutive months now.

Commenting on the company’s sustained growth, Roy Kurian, vice-president (Sales & Marketing), Yamaha Motor India, said, “October started with a positive sentiment for the two-wheeler industry. We continue to build on the growth momentum. The good monsoon has also added growth to sales. Yamaha has received fantastic response from the market for its line-up of scooters like the Fascino, Cygnus Alpha and the newly introduced Cygnus Ray-ZR.”

Currently, India Yamaha Motor sells sports models like the 321cc YZF-R3, 149cc YZF-R15 Version 2.0, 149cc YZF-R15S; 153cc FZ; Blue-Core Technology enabled models such as the 149cc FZ-S FI (Fuel-Injected) and FZ FI, 149cc Fazer FI, 149cc SZ-RR Version 2.0, 125cc Saluto and 110cc Saluto RX, 113cc Cygnus Ray-ZR, Cygnus Alpha and Fascino, the 847cc MT-09 as well as imported models comprising of the 1679cc VMAX, 998cc YZF-R1M and YZF-R1.
