Hero MotoCorp, the largest two-wheeler manufacturer in the country, today launched the all-new BS IV-compliant Achiever 150 in Manesar, just ahead of the festive season.

The Achiever 150 is powered by a new BS-IV-compliant 150cc engine that Hero claims delivers best-in-class performance and fuel efficiency and a premium riding experience. The air-cooled, single-cylinder, four-stroke engine develops maximum power output of 13.6 PS at 8000rpm and maximum torque of 12.8 Nm at 5000rpm. Hero MotoCorp says the new engine offers more power, torque and acceleration; the Achiever 150 goes from zero to 60kph in five seconds.

The new Achiever 150 also features the Hero patented i3S (Idle-stop-start system) technology. In addition to increasing fuel efficiency, the intuitive i3S system is an important convenience feature in urban stop-go traffic conditions.

Along with improved design and styling, the newest Hero gets a new analog digital speedometer with side stand indicator, larger fuel tank and new seat profile. There is also a first-in-class Automatic Headlamp On (AHO) feature that provides enhanced visibility and facilitates improved rider safety in low-visibility conditions.

The new Achiever 150 is priced at Rs 62,800 (ex-showroom Delhi) for the disc variant and Rs 61,800 (ex-showroom Delhi) for the drum variant.

70 million two-wheelers and counting

Hero MotoCorp also used the Achiever 150’s launch as a platform to announce that it has achieved a production landmark of 70 million two-wheelers, the first Indian two-wheeler manufacturer to achieve this milestone.

To commemorate this landmark, which comes in India’s 70th year of independence, the company has also launched a limited edition Achiever 150 emblazoned in the colours of the Indian flag. Only 70 units of the Limited Edition Achiever 150 will be available for sale.

Speaking at the Achiever 150 launch today, Pawan Munjal, chairman, MD and CEO, Hero MotoCorp, said: “The launch of the new next-generation Achiever 150 is a reiteration of our strong focus on developing new, technologically superior and youthful products across segments for our customers in India and across the globe. As the dominant market leader in both 100cc and 125cc segments in the domestic market, we are now looking at expanding our presence in the premium segment as well and the New Achiever 150 is a move in that direction.

“Over the years, we have continuously reinvented ourselves with the changing times to set new global benchmarks and cross several milestones. The 70 million cumulative production is special because this has been possible due to our sustained leadership performance. We are now gearing up for the next big milestone of 100 million cumulative production.”
