ADVIK Hi-Tech chooses PTC's Pro/ENGINEER
PTC, a product development company, announced that ADVIK Hi-Tech, which manufactures automotive components for two-wheelers, has standardized on Pro/ENGINEER to help transform its product development process and expand its operations into new markets.
Pune-based ADVIK Hi-Tech, a supplier of two-wheeler automotive parts such as tensioners to renowned worldwide brands such as Suzuki, Honda, Yamaha, Bajaj and Hero Honda, has chosen to standardise on PTC’s Pro/ENGINEER software.
Earlier, Advik relied on a two-dimensional CAD system for product development. This meant it was restricted to viewing designs in 2D and so engineers could not effectively analyze key design elements such as volume, surface area and mass.
The decision to shift to Pro/ENGINEER, PTC’s integrated 3D CAD/CAM/CAE software 3D, is largely driven by Advik’s ambitious growth initiatives into the four-wheeler market. Pro/ENGINEER provides ADVIK the powerful capabilities it needed to strengthen its development process, reduce errors and shorten time-to-market. It also helps reduce the development of a die-casting tool from 60 days to 45 days.
“Pro/ENGINEER has helped ADVIK meet the extremely high quality standards that our customers demand, while reducing design cycle time and managing increasing design complexity. As a result of these efficiencies, we can rapidly scale our product development to support the requirements of the new four-wheeler market, which gives ADVIK a competitive advantage,” said managing director, ADVIK Hi-Tech, Aditya Bhartia.
