Yamaha merges its precision component subsidiaries

Yamaha Motor Co has announced today that its consolidated subsidiaries Toyobesq Co and Fine Catec will merge, with Toyobesq Co.

Toyobesq Co is engaged in the processing and manufacturing of precision components for motorcycles, automobiles and outboard motors, while Fine Catec Co manufactures casting components. After the shareholders meetings of the respective companies to be held on September 28, the merger will be implemented on January 1, 2017, marking the start of the new company ‘Yamaha Motor Precision Parts Manufacturing Co’.

This merger intends not only to encompass the manufacturing of small- to medium-sized components by combining both companies’ strengths, but also to strengthen its position as a unit supplier by expanding business into the manufacturing of high-precision unit components.
By the end of last year, the two companies aggregated their respective manufacturing plants (excluding the Negata Factory) and headquarters functions at Yamaha Motor's Morimachi Factory in Morimachi (Shūchi, Shizuoka, Japan), strengthening cooperation in manufacturing technology and taking initiatives to expand business through integrated manufacturing from casting to processing and assembly.

Through this merger, we will take another step to increase business competitiveness in the face of further intensifying competition and environmental change both domestically and overseas in the future.
