Denso plans tech-laden display at Auto China 2014

Denso, the global automotive supplier, is to exhibit a wide range of products and technologies in the areas of safety and the environment at Auto China 2014, to be held in Beijing, China (April 21- 29).

The company’s main exhibit, called the Interactive Communication Cockpit, will showcase Denso’s future driver-assist technologies to improve safety. The cockpit includes a large-screen head-up display (HUD) that projects important and critical information on the windshield to help keep driver’s eyes on the road. Some information includes road signs, vehicle speed and potential road hazards, like pedestrians, oncoming vehicles or obstacles. In addition, the cockpit can notify the driver of upcoming hazards with sound and light to ensure safety.

Additionally, in the area of safety, Denso will exhibit an active safety system package with its sensing technologies, which combines different sensors, including vision sensor and millimeter-wave radar. Also, it will display on-board equipment for vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2X) communication to help create smoother traffic flow.

In the area of the environment, DENSO will show its injectors, high-pressure pumps and other products for petrol direct injection systems, and products for hybrid and electric vehicles. Furthermore, the company will display stop/start system-related products, like its lithium-ion battery packs, which efficiently stores regenerative electric power during deceleration and braking. The company also will display its cold storage evaporator, which maintains a supply of cool air to the vehicle cabin to avoid a cabin temperature increase while the air-conditioning is powered down when the vehicle is at idle.
