Zoomcar, one of India’s largest self-drive car rental platforms, has expanded its Home Delivery service to 14 cities, introducing operational upgrades aimed at improving convenience for users and increasing opportunities for vehicle owners.

The enhanced Home Delivery offering allows guests to have rental vehicles delivered directly to their preferred location, reducing the need to visit pickup points. The service is now available in major urban centers including Bangalore, Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Hyderabad, Pune, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Chandigarh, Kochi, Kanpur, Nasik, Vizag, and others. Zoomcar plans to extend the service to additional markets by the end of August.

A key update to the platform involves changes to how vehicle owners—referred to as Hosts—manage delivery options. Previously, Hosts had to choose a binary option: either offer delivery for all bookings or none at all. The updated system allows Hosts to define custom delivery zones on a map, specify availability based on time of day, and temporarily pause delivery without removing their vehicle from the platform. This flexibility aims to encourage broader participation among Hosts.

According to company data, the revised delivery model has led to a 10% increase in Host engagement and improved booking reliability. Vehicles with delivery enabled continue to see higher user engagement and conversion rates compared to those without the feature.

To further scale the service, Zoomcar has partnered with third-party driver networks. In cases where a Host does not opt for delivery, a driver from one of Zoomcar’s partner platforms can deliver the vehicle to the guest. This hybrid fulfillment model is currently supporting approximately 12% of total bookings, with expectations of growth as coverage expands.

Anirudh Lamba, Head of Brand & Partnerships at Zoomcar, stated, “The integration of flexible Host tools and external driver partnerships is intended to improve access to self-drive rentals while supporting vehicle owners in maximizing utilization.”

Zoomcar reports that its platform includes over 40,000 vehicles and serves more than 10 million users across 90 cities. The company describes the updated Home Delivery system as a strategic initiative to strengthen its position in India’s growing self-drive rental market.

Founded in 2013 and headquartered in Bengaluru, Zoomcar operates a peer-to-peer car-sharing model that enables private vehicle owners to rent out their cars when not in use. The platform aims to promote cost-effective, flexible, and sustainable urban transportation solutions.

As the Home Delivery service rolls out nationwide, Zoomcar continues to focus on features that improve user experience, vehicle availability, and operational efficiency within its marketplace.
