zingbus announced that it has completed 17,53,380 cumulative electric kilometres across its electric bus operations, according to operational performance data released released by the intercity bus operator on Thursday.

The company said that its fleet operations have displaced an estimated 5,00,966 litres of diesel fuel to date. It claims that based on standard diesel combustion metrics, this volume corresponds to roughly 1,300 tonnes of direct tailpipe carbon dioxide emissions avoided. On an operational basis, each electric bus in the network covers an average of 550 kilometres per day, with the collective fleet ferrying nearly 675 passengers daily.

Commenting on the operating metrics, Prashant Kumar, Co-Founder and CEO, zingbus, said, "The next phase must also enable operators to participate confidently through access to technology, demand visibility and sustainable operating models. That is how electric buses can scale while creating measurable benefits for passengers, operators and the environment."
