ZF Commercial Vehicle Control Systems India Limited has secured business nominations from three leading Indian commercial vehicle original equipment manufacturers to supply its ESCsmart Electronic Stability Control system. The multi-year supply agreements cover truck platforms across 12V and 24V electrical architectures, with serial production scheduled to begin in the third quarter of 2027.

Three OEMs, 12V and 24V Platforms, Local Assembly

The order wins precede a national regulatory mandate under Automotive Industry Standards (AIS), which will require Electronic Stability Control to be fitted on trucks starting October 1, 2027. All ESC units under the new contracts will be assembled locally and supplied from the company’s manufacturing operations in India.

ESC Shifting from Feature to Mandate Across India's CV Segment

ZF CVCS India Managing Director Paramjit Singh Chadha stated that vehicle stability technologies are transitioning from optional features to basic regulatory requirements across the commercial vehicle market. He added that the company will support OEM integration through its local engineering teams, production facilities, and dedicated ESC validation test track.

Non-Executive Chairman Akash Passey noted that the supply nominations align with an industry-wide transition toward active safety technologies as implementation deadlines approach. The system is currently installed on over 60,000 vehicles in India, operating alongside ZF's global supply baseline of more than three million ESC units delivered to date.
