Yulu, an electric vehicle (EV) mobility technology company in India, has launched its service in Pondicherry in partnership with Green Drive Pondicherry, a local venture. The launch event at Pondy Marina was attended by several government officials, including the Chief Minister of Puducherry.

Green Drive Pondicherry will operate Yulu's Miracle EVs in the city. This launch is part of Yulu's Business Partner initiative, which has previously established services in Indore, Kochi, and Tirunelveli.

Pondicherry, known for its tourist attractions, faces challenges related to traffic and pollution. Yulu's EVs are presented as an environmentally friendly transportation option that doesn't require a driver's license and has a top speed of 25 kmph.

Amit Gupta, Co-founder & CEO of Yulu, stated that the launch aligns with their mission to transform non-metro cities in India sustainably. K. Prakathesh, Founder of Green Drive Pondicherry, expressed optimism about the partnership's potential impact on sustainable tourism.

The EVs will be available at specific locations in Pondicherry for tourists and leisure riders to explore various areas of the city. Yulu has provided support in terms of EVs, technology, training, and connections with local hospitality players.

A battery swapping station, set up by Yuma, will support the fleet's energy needs.

This launch marks Yulu's expansion to its tenth city, with operations now spanning across several major Indian cities under both company-owned and franchisee-operated models.
