A Mega Rally comprising hundreds of Yulu electric vehicles (EVs) ridden by local students took to the streets of Bengaluru today as part of the World Tourism Day festivities organised by Karnataka Tourism.

The 90-minute rally showcased the innovative use of EVs in promoting sustainable urban tourism. Its route ran through some of Bengaluru’s best-known heritage sites and culminated at the Indira Gandhi Musical Fountain, where a cultural programme and exhibition were organised for various tourism industry stakeholders.

The EV Mega Rally was organised by Karnataka Tourism in keeping with the theme of World Tourism Day 2023, viz. ‘Tourism & Green Investments’. As sustainable tourism gathers global momentum, World Tourism Day reminds governments, private companies and communities to intensify investments in the sector’s green transformation.

The use of Yulu’s micro mobility EVs in the Rally is consistent with the Karnataka government’s efforts to tackle road congestion and emissions and underlines its intent to decarbonise tourism through the use of innovative and future-ready transport solutions.

The Yulu Miracle NV vehicles used in the Rally are zero-emission, lightweight EVs powered by advanced lithium-ion chemistry cells.
