Youdha Reaches 1,000-Unit Mark for Its ePod Electric Three-Wheeler

Youdha, the electric commercial mobility brand of Zuperia Auto Private Limited, has manufactured its 1,000th ePod electric three-wheeler, a threshold the company says marks the transition from its initial phase to a broader expansion of its operations in India.

The New Delhi-based company plans to extend its product range across both cargo and passenger segments, widen its dealer and service network, and enter markets in Southern India, a region where electric three-wheeler adoption has been growing alongside the expansion of e-commerce logistics and shared mobility services. It has also indicated it is exploring commercial opportunities outside India, though no specific markets or timelines were disclosed.

CEO Ayush Lohia said the company reached the milestone through the support of customers, dealers, and financiers, and framed the 1,000-unit mark not as an endpoint but as a foundation for scaling further. He indicated that the company's focus going forward would be on building long-term relationships with channel partners and customers while expanding its distribution infrastructure.

Why Electric Three-Wheelers Are Gaining Ground in India

Electric three-wheelers have emerged as one of the more commercially viable segments of India's broader EV transition. Lower fuel and maintenance costs compared with petrol or diesel alternatives have made them attractive to small fleet operators and individual owners engaged in last-mile goods delivery and short-distance passenger transport. Government incentives under schemes such as FAME II have further supported adoption, though the subsidy landscape has shifted in recent years as policy priorities have evolved.

Electric Three-Wheeler Makers and Financing Challenges in India

The segment has attracted a range of manufacturers. Established players such as Mahindra Electric and Piaggio have long held positions in the three-wheeler market, while newer entrants have sought to compete on product design, total cost of ownership, and after-sales service. Financing access has remained a constraint for many buyers, particularly owner-operators, and companies that have built relationships with non-banking financial institutions have had an advantage in penetrating tier-two and tier-three markets.

What Is the Youdha ePod Built For?

Youdha's ePod is designed for commercial use, targeting businesses and individual operators in goods delivery and short-haul passenger movement. The vehicle competes in a market where range, payload capacity, charging infrastructure availability, and service turnaround times are key purchase considerations. The company has not publicly disclosed production capacity figures or revenue.
