Yokohama India plans to add five sizes to its GEOLANDAR X-CV tyre range, increasing the locally manufactured portfolio from 32 to 37 sizes. The expansion covers 16-inch to 20-inch applications for crossover SUVs and other SUV segments.
Announced on October 26, 2026, the planned addition will extend the range across compact, mid-size and premium SUVs. Yokohama India said the expanded portfolio is intended to address a wider range of vehicle fitments in the domestic market.
The five new sizes are part of the company's efforts to expand its locally manufactured tyre portfolio as SUV models and their fitment requirements diversify. The company expects the expanded range to increase the availability of locally produced tyres across different SUV categories.
GEOLANDAR X-CV To Cover Five Additional Tyre Sizes
The five additions cover the following tyre sizes: 215/65 R16, 205/55 R17, 215/55 R17, 235/65 R17 and 245/50 R20. According to the company's fitment reference, these sizes cover applications across several SUV and crossover models.
The 215/65 R16 size is listed for the Tata Curvv and older Jeep Compass, while the 205/55 R17 size covers the Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq and Kylaq. The 215/55 R17 size is listed for the Honda Elevate, Kia Carens, Kia Syros, Mahindra XUV 3XO, MG Astor, MG ZS and Toyota Innova Crysta.
The 235/65 R17 size covers the Tata Harrier, Tata Safari, Mahindra XUV500, Mahindra XUV700 and Volvo XC60. The 245/50 R20 size is listed for the Mahindra BE 6.
Yokohama India Focuses On Local Manufacturing
The expansion forms part of Yokohama India's strategy to increase local manufacturing and localisation across its product portfolio. The company said the additional sizes would allow it to serve a broader range of domestic SUV applications through locally manufactured tyres.
Harinder Singh, managing director of Yokohama India, said the expansion aligns with the company's manufacturing strategy in India and the changing mix of SUV models and price segments. He added that increasing the GEOLANDAR X-CV range to 37 locally produced sizes would expand its coverage of the domestic SUV market.
Yokohama India is a wholly owned subsidiary of Japan-based Yokohama Rubber Co. Ltd. Its product portfolio includes tyres for passenger cars, SUVs and other automotive applications, with distribution across India, the SAARC region and Africa.
