India Yamaha Motor Private Limited has launched the XSR155 motorcycle, marking the brand's entry into the modern retro sport segment in India. The company simultaneously unveiled its first electric vehicles for the Indian market—the AEROX-E and EC-06—while expanding its FZ portfolio with the new FZ-RAVE model.
The XSR155, priced at Rs 1,49,990 (ex-showroom Delhi), represents Yamaha's expansion in the premium motorcycle category. The model features a 155cc liquid-cooled engine with Variable Valve Actuation, producing 13.5 kW of power and 14.2 Nm of torque. Built on Yamaha's Deltabox frame, it includes upside-down front forks, dual-channel ABS, and traction control. The motorcycle is available in four colour options with two accessory packages—Scrambler and Café Racer.
Electric Vehicle Entry
The AEROX-E performance electric scooter features a 9.4 kW peak power motor with 48 Nm of torque, powered by dual detachable 3kWh batteries. The model offers a certified range of 106 kilometres and includes multiple riding modes—Eco, Standard, Power, and Boost—along with a reverse function. It comes equipped with twin LED headlights, a colour TFT screen with turn-by-turn navigation, and Y-connect mobile app connectivity.
The EC-06, designed for interurban mobility, is powered by a 4.5 kW motor with 6.7 kW peak power and a 4 kWh fixed battery. The model has a certified range of 160 kilometres and takes approximately nine hours to charge fully using a standard home plug. It features front and rear disc brakes, LED lighting, and a built-in telematics unit with 24.5 litres of under-seat storage.
FZ Portfolio Expansion
The FZ-RAVE, priced at Rs 1,17,218 (ex-showroom Delhi), targets the 150cc segment with a 149cc air-cooled engine producing 9.1 kW of power. The model features full-LED projector headlamp, single-channel ABS, and front and rear disc brakes. Available in Matte Titan and Metallic Black, the FZ-RAVE builds on the legacy of 2.75 million FZ-S motorcycles sold in India.
Itaru Otani, Chairman of Yamaha Motor India Group, stated that India remains central to the company's global growth strategy. The launches align with India's transition toward sustainable transportation and support the country's Viksit Bharat vision, guided by Yamaha's Environmental Plan 2050.
The new models will be available through Yamaha's dealer network across India. The company operates manufacturing facilities in Surajpur, Uttar Pradesh, and Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu, producing motorcycles and parts for domestic and international markets.
