VTRO Motors launches SaaS-based solutions to monitor EV battery consumption

VTRO Motors, a Maharashtra-based firm focused on emission-free commute, has launched an electric vehicle (EV) ecosystem incubator which helps to monitor battery consumption, battery lifecycle, consumer usage patterns etc.

Customised for not only EV manufacturers but also battery makers, the AI-based SaaS service aims to help manufacturers to improve customisation, lower costs and improve connectivity.

Besides offering software solutions, VTRO is also focusing on scalable charging station infrastructure hardware solutions.

The entire offering, which will be rolled out in three phases over the coming three to four months, aims to offer a complete electric vehicle ecosystem package for EV players.

Electric vehicles, while catching up in India, have seen many pain points, one being charging infrastructure, with points being too few and far in between, which is aggravated by traffic.

VTRO has developed a universal external AI enabled IoT module which can be fitted to any EV battery available in the market. This data is expected to help plot the overall performance and scope of innovation in EV batteries, which could help players, given that batteries are expensive to manufacture.

This IoT module will predict the thermal runaway with unique cell level tracking technology, which will help the industry to avoid fire incidents in future. As the number of batteries increases on machine learning platform the data will give much more accurate predictions, the company states in a press release.

The next step of the rollout will be then to modify the IoT module to track EV vehicle performance, allowing manufacturers to track real time insights on the durability and adaptability of EV vehicles on different terrains, the consumer usage pattern and possible modifications that can enhance the user experience. Phase three will be launching the charging & Swapping station hardware support which can be customised to the manufacturer’s requirement.

Pranit Parekar Co-founder & CTO, VTRO Motors said, "Today we do not have any holistic market intelligence or real time reports on the usage and performance of EVs or batteries or intuitive tracker for consumer preference and needs. We hope our AI solutions will help bridge this gap of market insight in order to enhance the demand-supply chain."

The domestic EV batteries segment is valued at US$ 1.5 billion and is slated to reach US$ 8billion  in the next 5 years. SaaS solutions are expected to bolster the overall EV sector, and enable its reach in tier 3 and 4 markets.
