Hero MotoCorp has appointed Sachin Agrawal as its new Chief Technology Officer, with the transition taking effect on May 21, 2026. Agrawal will succeed Vikram Kasbekar, who is stepping down from the technology role but will remain on the company's board as an Executive Director.
In his new position, Agrawal will lead research and development operations across the Hero Centre for Innovation and Technology as well as the Hero Tech Centre Germany. His mandate includes advancing the automaker's initiatives in next generation mobility, electrification, and alternative fuels.
Agrawal brings over 29 years of automotive engineering and technology leadership experience to the two wheeler manufacturer. Prior to this appointment, he served as the Executive Vice President and Head of R&D and Technology at VE Commercial Vehicles, a joint venture between the Volvo Group and Eicher Motors. His technical background covers product development across diesel, CNG, electric, and hydrogen platforms, alongside work in connected mobility, artificial intelligence integration, and software defined vehicle ecosystems.
Earlier in his career, Agrawal worked at Daewoo Motors, where he contributed to the chassis design for the Matiz in South Korea. He has also served as the Chairperson of the SIAM Frontier Technology and Innovation Group and led the Global Center of Excellence for Medium Duty Engine Development for the Volvo Group. Dr. Pawan Munjal, Executive Chairman of Hero MotoCorp, stated that Agrawal's leadership will help guide the company's technology roadmap as it accelerates its transition toward electrification.
