HCLTech has announced an expansion of its partnership with Volvo Cars, under which it will now serve as one of the automotive company's strategic suppliers for engineering services. The move builds on their established collaboration in digital and product lifecycle management (PLM) services.

The expanded agreement will see HCLTech delivering comprehensive engineering solutions to support Volvo Cars’ future mobility goals. The services will be managed from Volvo’s automotive Centre of Excellence in Gothenburg, Sweden, as well as from HCLTech’s offshore and nearshore delivery centers worldwide.

HCLTech operates in over 60 countries with a workforce of more than 223,000 employees. The company provides services in digital, engineering, cloud, and artificial intelligence, offering solutions across various sectors including financial services, manufacturing, life sciences, healthcare, high tech, semiconductors, telecommunications and media, retail, consumer packaged goods, and public services. Its consolidated revenue for the 12 months ending March 2025 was $13.8 billion.

Volvo Cars, established in 1927 and headquartered in Gothenburg, Sweden, is a global manufacturer of premium vehicles. Its portfolio includes sedans, wagons, and SUVs. The company operates production facilities in Sweden, Belgium, China, and the United States, and its products are sold in more than 100 countries. Since its listing on Nasdaq Stockholm in 2021, Volvo Cars has continued to expand its global footprint.

Safety has been a key aspect of Volvo’s identity, with innovations such as the introduction of the three-point seat belt in 1959. The company remains focused on developing safety features aimed at protecting both occupants and road users. In recent years, Volvo Cars has placed increasing emphasis on sustainability. It has outlined plans to become a fully electric car company and reduce its environmental impact across operations and the supply chain.

The brand combines its Scandinavian design heritage with modern automotive technology. Volvo Cars positions itself as a company that prioritizes thoughtful design, customer experience, and long-term reliability. With a focus on innovation and environmental responsibility, it continues to adapt to the evolving demands of the global automotive market while maintaining its core principles.
