Volvo Car India and ChargeZone Open Ultra-Fast Charging Station Near Igatpuri

Volvo Car India and ChargeZone have inaugurated an ultra-fast electric vehicle charging station on the Mumbai-Nashik Highway near Igatpuri, Maharashtra. The facility, located at Food Hills along one of the state's busiest intercity routes, is equipped with a 360kW star charge power unit and two dynamic load balancing dispensers designed to optimise power distribution and reduce waiting times for EV users.

The station offers dedicated charging bays for Volvo EVs alongside access for other electric vehicle users, with app-based navigation and payment functionality. The dynamic load balancing configuration allows the available power to be distributed between dispensers based on demand, enabling faster real-world charging speeds compared to fixed-output units.

Jyoti Malhotra, Managing Director of Volvo Car India, said the station represents the first step in delivering a wider charging network across India through the partnership. "The new 360kW station on the Mumbai-Nashik highway is the first step in delivering a world-class charging experience across India," Malhotra said.

Kartikey Hariyani, Founder and CEO of ChargeZone, described the installation as a step toward making long-distance EV travel more predictable. "As EV adoption accelerates, our priority is to ensure that long-distance travel becomes fast, predictable and seamless," he said.

The station is the first co-branded charging point to open under a Memorandum of Understanding signed in 2025 between the two companies. Additional stations are planned for 2026, though specific locations and timelines were not disclosed. ChargeZone currently operates more than 13,500 charging points across 1,200-plus locations in India and the UAE.
