Volkswagen will begin selling battery-powered version of its bus in North America from next year onwards, signalling the re-entry of the model after two decades, Reuters reported.

The entirely electric ID. Buzz will also encompass an extra long version that can accommodate seven passengers and has a bigger 85-kilowatt hour (kWh) battery to increase range, the newswire said.

All ID. Buzz vehicles for the market will be manufactured at its Hanover plant, the company stated, saying that batteries could be charged from 10% to 80% in less than 25 minutes at rapid charging stations, the newswire stated.
