Volkswagen Taigun GT Line: what’s different?

First off, the Taigun GT Line is only available with the 115hp, 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine, with both 6-speed manual and 6-speed torque converter automatic options. When compared to the top-spec Taigun Chrome Topline variant, the GT Line seems to have the same features list, but with certain cosmetic differences.

There are black 17-inch ‘Cassino’ alloy wheels and every bit of chrome on the outside has been replaced with a black finish – the front grille, headlights, roof rails, spoiler and badges. The interior of the Taigun GT Line continues with the blacked-out theme with contrast grey stitching on the doors, seat covers, front centre armrest and steering wheel.

Volkswagen Taigun GT Plus Sport: what’s different?

The Taigun GT Plus Sport is only available with the 150hp, 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine, which has 6-speed manual and 7-speed dual-clutch automatic options. It gets the same features as the top-spec Taigun GT Plus Chrome, but with blacked-out styling. Even compared to the Taigun GT Line, the GT Plus Sport adds a number of contrasting red bits, such as the GT badges on the grille, front fender, bootlid and the brake calipers. The contrasting red continues in the cabin as well, and can be seen on the seats, steering wheel, armrests and doors. In addition, the GT Plus Sport also gets aluminium pedals.

Volkswagen Taigun Sport: rivals

These blacked-out versions of the Taigun will take on the likes of the Skoda Kushaq Monte Carlo (Rs 17.29 lakh-20.49 lakh), Kia Seltos X-Line (Rs 19.65 lakh-20.35 lakh), and the Hyundai Creta N Line (Rs 16.82 lakh-20.45 lakh).

All prices, ex-showroom, India
