Vietnamese electric vehicle maker VinFast, which sees India as a key pillar in its global expansion strategy, is set to expand its product portfolio with three new electric models in 2026. First of the three will be a seven-seater electric MPV, Limo Green, likely to be launched in February.

Vietnamese electric vehicle maker VinFast, which sees India as a key pillar in its global expansion strategy, is set to expand its product portfolio with three new electric models in 2026. First of the three will be a seven-seater electric MPV, Limo Green, likely to be launched in February.
"In 2026, VinFast plans to introduce three new models to the Indian market. These products are designed around real usage patterns and premiumness, not just specifications on paper, but they aim to deliver strong value for price-conscious Indian consumers. We will begin with launching a 7-seater MPV," VinFast India CEO Tapan Gosh said.
The company is looking to build on the early momentum of its first two electric SUVs, VF6 and VF7, as it scales volumes and expands its retail footprint in the country. VinFast has sold over 1,000 electric cars since launching its initial models in India in September 2025 and emerged among the top four electric passenger vehicle sellers in December, ahead of brands such as Hyundai, Kia, and BYD. The company will also double its dealerships to 70 this year.
Both the VF6 and VF7 are locally assembled at VinFast’s manufacturing facility in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu. The company is in the process of ramping up production while steadily increasing its network of showrooms and service touchpoints across major Indian cities. According to the management, localisation and domestic manufacturing remain central to VinFast’s long-term strategy in the Indian market.
Alongside its passenger vehicle plans, VinFast’s ecosystem play in India is also set to expand. Vietnam-based electric taxi operator Green and Smart Mobility (GSM) is planning to enter India’s ride-hailing market in February 2026 with a fleet of electric vehicles sourced from VinFast. GSM is owned by Vietnamese conglomerate Vingroup and is backed by its chairman, Pham Nhat Vuong.
Beyond electric cars, VinFast is also preparing to enter India’s electric two-wheeler and electric bus segments during the year. The company has committed an investment of up to $2 billion in India and is expanding its Tamil Nadu facility to support the manufacturing of electric buses and two-wheelers alongside passenger vehicles.
