VinFast Opens Pre-Bookings for Electric SUVs VF 7 and VF 6 in India
Vietnamese automaker begins accepting reservations for two electric SUV models ahead of August launch, with local assembly planned at Tamil Nadu facility.
VinFast Auto India has opened pre-bookings for its VF 7 and VF 6 electric SUVs across the Indian market on July 15, 2025. The Vietnamese automaker is accepting reservations through its showrooms and official website VinFastAuto.in with a refundable booking amount of INR 21,000.
The company plans to officially launch both models for public sale in August 2025, following the inauguration of its manufacturing plant in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu. Vehicle deliveries are scheduled to commence after the plant opening.
VinFast, a subsidiary of Vietnam's Vingroup JSC conglomerate, showcased these models at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo earlier this year. The company positions both vehicles as solutions for Indian road conditions, offering what it describes as impressive range capabilities for city commutes, intercity travel, and weekend trips.
The VF 7 features a spacious interior, Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), large touchscreen, connected car technologies, panoramic glass roof, wireless charging, and LED lighting. The VF 6 targets families with Level 2 ADAS, infotainment system, connected features, and panoramic roof designed for daily use.
Both vehicles will be assembled at VinFast's upcoming Thoothukudi facility, which represents a $500 million investment. The plant is designed to produce 150,000 vehicles annually when fully operational and is expected to create approximately 3,500 direct jobs.
VinFast has established partnerships with 13 dealer partners to create 32 dealerships across 27 cities in India. The initial dealership network will cover major urban centers including Delhi, Gurugram, Noida, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Cochin, Bhubaneshwar, Trivandrum, Chandigarh, Lucknow, Coimbatore, Surat, Calicut, Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Shimla, Agra, Jhansi, Gwalior, Vapi, Baroda, and Goa.
The company has also formed strategic partnerships with RoadGrid, myTVS, and Global Assure to develop charging infrastructure and after-sales service networks. These collaborations aim to provide real-time charging access, AI-driven diagnostics, and integrated digital platforms.
In line with sustainability goals, VinFast has partnered with BatX Energies, an Indian clean-tech company specializing in battery recycling, rare metal recovery, and end-of-life battery repurposing. This partnership is intended to support a circular battery value chain in India.
VinFast trades on NASDAQ under the symbol VFS and describes itself as a pure-play electric vehicle manufacturer. The company's product range includes electric SUVs, e-scooters, and e-buses. VinFast operates manufacturing facilities in Vietnam and India, with planned operations in the United States.
The entry into India represents VinFast's expansion into one of the world's largest automotive markets, as the country continues to develop its electric vehicle infrastructure and consumer adoption grows.
