VinFast India Patents Rasad Electric Maxi-Scooter Design
The Rasad joins a growing list of VinFast electric two-wheelers patented in India in recent months.
To tap the growing demand for performance scooters in India, Vietnamese auto major VinFast is exploring Maxi scooter for India. As part of its intent to participate in this growing category, VinFast has filed a design patent in India for the Rasad, an electric maxi-scooter concept. The company had originally unveiled this model globally in early 2026 alongside the Sadie and Saxil models.
Positioned as a performance-oriented maxi-scooter, the Rasad features a muscular, angular design built around an underbone chassis with chunky tires, a tall windscreen, a spacious stepped seat, and disc brakes at both ends. Suspension duties are managed by a telescopic front fork and twin rear shock absorbers.
VinFast Rasad Specifications: Motor Power, Top Speed and Launch Timeline
While official specifications remain unconfirmed by the company, Vietnamese media reports indicate that the scooter will utilize a centrally mounted motor generating 7.1 kW of peak power, capable of reaching a claimed top speed of 100 km/h, with a global launch targeted for the fourth quarter of 2026.
VinFast's Other Electric Two-Wheeler Patents in India
The filing comes shortly after VinFast patented two other electric two-wheelers in India, including the Viper scooter and an electric motorcycle believed to be based on the Sulad concept unveiled in January 2026. While patent filings do not automatically guarantee a commercial launch, these consecutive filings suggest that VinFast is actively preparing a broader product lineup for India beyond the three Vietnam-spec models it initially identified for its planned 2026 market entry.
