VinFast India Deputy CEO Ashwin Patil Moves to Advisory Role
Patil steps down from executive position; continues in strategic capacity as company advances India rollout.
Ashwin Patil has stepped down from his role as Deputy CEO at VinFast India and assumed a new position as Strategic Advisor, effective June 2, 2025.
In his previous capacity, Patil oversaw key functions such as Sales and Network, Marketing, Corporate Banking, and Human Resources during the company’s early expansion phase in India.
Patil also represented VinFast at the recently concluded Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, where the company made its public debut in India. He introduced the VF 6 and VF 7 electric SUVs and outlined plans to commence retail operations in the second half of 2025 through a multi-city omnichannel network.
VinFast is currently progressing with its India strategy, which includes setting up a 400-acre electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing facility in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu. The plant is scheduled to begin operations in July 2025, with an initial annual capacity of 50,000 units, scalable based on market demand.
According to people familiar with the matter, apart from his strategic advisory role at VinFast, Patil will also pursue personal endeavors in the future.
The company is yet to announce a replacement for the Deputy CEO role.
Over the course of his career, Patil has held senior leadership positions across leading automotive companies including Jeep, Mahindra & Mahindra, and Hyundai, contributing to their sales and distribution strategies.
