Valeo Opens Camera Production Line in Sanand
The French auto supplier's new HD Surround-View Camera assembly line at its Sanand facility marks its latest expansion in India, where the company has operated since 1997.
Valeo inaugurated a new HD Surround-View Camera production line at its Sanand facility in Gujarat on April 3, 2026. Marc Vrecko, CEO of the company's BRAIN Division, led the inauguration to advance localised manufacturing of vision systems for major original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) in India.
The new line will produce next-generation vision camera systems aimed at enhancing driver assistance, improving road safety, and supporting demand for autonomous and semi-autonomous driving technologies.
Marc Vrecko, Valeo BRAIN Division CEO said: "The inauguration of this new camera line at our Sanand facility is a proud moment for our team and a proof to our dedication to the Indian market. By localizing the production of these highly complex, advanced vision systems, we are not only streamlining our supply chain but also accelerating the delivery of world-class safety technologies to our partners."
The Sanand facility is also planned to expand into automotive displays and telematics control units, positioning it as a multi-technology manufacturing hub for digital cockpit and connected vehicle solutions. Hardware manufacturing will be based at Sanand, while software development for these systems will be handled at Valeo's R&D hub in Chennai.
The facility will produce components for both Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and Advanced Rider Assistance Systems (ARAS).
Jayakumar G, Group President & Managing Director Valeo India stated: "We are scaling our product portfolio in Sanand, India. This investment in a state of the art surround-view camera line underscores our commitment to localizing high-tech solutions. It strengthens our ADAS manufacturing capabilities and R&D and ensures we continue to meet our customers' evolving needs."
India is a named priority market in Valeo's 'Elevate 2028' strategic plan.
