Uno Minda Reduces Auto Component Prices Following GST Rate Cuts

Uno Minda Limited has reduced prices across multiple auto component categories following the GST Council's decision to cut tax rates from 28% to 18% on products including alloy wheels, batteries, car mats, and CNG kits. The price revisions, effective September 22, 2025, pass on the full GST benefits to customers.

The move follows the 56th GST Council Meeting's recommendations to rationalize tax rates across categories. The automotive sector has been implementing price adjustments in response to the GST reforms, with vehicle manufacturers and component suppliers revising their pricing structures.

Under the revised GST structure, multiple products previously taxed at 28% now fall under the 18% bracket, while some items under the 18% slab have been reduced to 5%. Uno Minda's aftermarket division confirmed all product groups previously in the 28% category are now subject to 18% GST.

"We welcome the Government of India and the GST Council's progressive step towards rationalizing tax rates," said Vishal Kaul, Business Head & President, Aftermarket Uno Minda Ltd. "Passing on these benefits directly to our customers, particularly on products such as alloy wheels, batteries, car mats, CNG kits & other products on which the GST rate has been reduced from 28% to 18%, reflects our commitment to delivering technologically advanced, reliable, genuine, and performance-driven products at more affordable prices."

The company stated the initiative supports the automotive ecosystem by making quality solutions more accessible and driving sustainable industry growth.

Established in 1958, Uno Minda operates as a Tier 1 automotive solutions supplier to original equipment manufacturers. The company's aftermarket division covers over 30 product categories across two-wheelers, three-wheelers, passenger cars, commercial vehicles, tractors and off-road vehicles.

The company operates 72 manufacturing plants and maintains a distribution network of 1,400+ business partners, 40,000+ retailers and 70,000+ service points across 600+ districts in India. Uno Minda also has international presence across Europe, the USA, Latin America, Africa, the Middle East, ASEAN and SAARC regions with export offices in Dubai and Indonesia.
