Uno Minda Introduces 4kW Portable Car EV Wall Charger For Home Use
The automotive aftermarket company has unveiled a 7.4kW charging solution featuring IP65 weatherproofing, Type 2 compatibility, and safety protections, priced at Rs 32,514 during launch.
Uno Minda Ltd. has announced the launch of its Car EV Wall Charger, designed to provide home charging capabilities for electric vehicle owners across India.
The wall-mounted unit delivers 7.4kW single-phase charging output at 230V AC and features a Type 2 integrated socket, making it compatible with all Type 2 connector electric vehicles currently available in the Indian market.
According to Anand Kumar, Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Uno Minda's Aftermarket division, the product addresses the evolving infrastructure needs of India's electric mobility sector. The charger incorporates an IP65-rated enclosure for water and dust resistance, along with an IK10-rated body for impact protection.
The device includes multiple connectivity options, supporting cellular networks, Ethernet, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 5.0 for remote monitoring capabilities. A smart LED interface displays real-time charging status and error notifications.
Safety features include protection against overvoltage, overcurrent, overheating, and short circuits, with automatic cut-off and restart functionality built into the system.
The product carries a maximum retail price of Rs 50,000, with an introductory launch price of Rs 32,514. It will be available through offline retail channels and online platforms including Amazon, Flipkart, and Unomindakart, backed by a one-year warranty.
Uno Minda, established in 1958, operates as a Tier 1 automotive component supplier with 72 manufacturing plants and a distribution network spanning over 1,400 business partners and 40,000 retailers across India.
