Uno Minda achieves 17% revenue growth in Q2 led by key segments

The company’s PAT increased 9% year-on-year in the quarter.

Global Tier-1 automotive components manufacturer, Uno Minda Ltd, reported a consolidated revenue of ₹4,245 crores, representing a 17% year-on-year growth compared to ₹3,621 crores in Q2FY24. This strong showing was driven by multiple segments, particularly in Lighting, Switches, Casting, Sensors, and Controllers divisions.

The company's consolidated profit after tax (PAT) reached ₹245 crores, marking a 9% increase from ₹225 crores in Q2 FY24. The company's performance also notably outpaced the industry, achieving 17% revenue growth against the industry's volume growth of 9%.

In a significant milestone, Uno Minda recorded its highest-ever quarterly EBITDA of ₹482 crores, up 20% from ₹402 crores in the corresponding quarter last year. The EBITDA margin improved to 11.4%, showing a 28 basis points increase year-on-year.

Nirmal K Minda, CMD of Uno Minda Group, emphasized the company's commitment to sustainable growth and innovation. "As India emerges as a global automotive hub, we are well-positioned to capitalize on this growth with our diversified portfolio catering to all vehicle segments," he said.

The company's half-yearly performance was equally impressive, with H1 FY25 revenue reaching ₹8,062 crores, up 20% from ₹6,714 crores in H1 FY24. The EBITDA for H1 FY25 stood at ₹890 crores, showing a 22% growth.

Sunil Bohra, CFO of Uno Minda Group, attributed the success to the company's strategic approach towards strengthening customer relationships and forging new partnerships. He highlighted the company's focus on R&D and innovation, saying that these elements are crucial for developing new products and maintaining their position as a preferred global systems manufacturer.

Uno Minda, which began operations in 1958, currently operates 74 manufacturing facilities across six countries and maintains 37 R&D and Engineering Centers globally. The company designs and manufactures over 20 categories of components and systems for vehicles across all segments, serving both traditional internal combustion engines and electric/hybrid vehicles.
