Electric vehicle manufacturer Ultraviolette reported that its newly launched X-47 Crossover motorcycle received over 3,000 bookings within 24 hours of its market introduction, prompting the company to expand its promotional pricing structure.

The Bengaluru-based company announced it would extend its introductory offer, initially available to the first 1,000 customers, to cover the first 5,000 purchasers following the strong market reception.

"The incredible response to the X-47 within just a day of launch is a testament to the growing appetite for cutting-edge, electric motorcycles in India," stated Narayan Subramaniam, Co-founder and CEO of Ultraviolette. The executive indicated the company's commitment to delivering products that expand the capabilities of electric motorcycle technology.

The X-47 Crossover features a 40 HP (30 kW) motor delivering 610 Nm of torque, with a claimed range of up to 323 kilometers on a single charge. The motorcycle accelerates from 0 to 60 kmph in 2.7 seconds and reaches 0 to 100 kmph in 8.1 seconds, achieving a top speed of 145 kmph.

Safety and performance features include dual-channel ABS, a patented dynamic stability control system, and a five-level safety framework. The motorcycle incorporates radar technology for blind-spot detection, lane-keep assist, overtake warnings, and rear-collision alerts. Additional specifications include four levels of traction control and an integrated onboard charger.

The company indicated the motorcycle aims to establish a new market segment within India's performance electric motorcycle category.

Ultraviolette plans to begin X-47 Crossover deliveries in October 2025.

The company, established in 2016 by founders Narayan Subramaniam and Niraj Rajmohan, operates with backing from multiple investors including Lingotto (a subsidiary of Exor N.V.), Qualcomm Ventures, Zoho Corporation, TVS Motors, TDK Ventures, and Speciale Invest.

Ultraviolette describes its business focus as developing electric vehicle platforms and battery technology systems, incorporating what it characterizes as aviation-influenced design principles in its product development approach.
