Ultraviolette Automotive has launched its first carbon-fibre helmet, the UV Crossfade, at EICMA 2025 in Milan, Italy, marking the company's entry into connected riding solutions. The Bengaluru-based electric vehicle manufacturer also unveiled its complete product portfolio at the world's premier motorcycle exhibition.
The UV Crossfade helmet features a carbon-fibre outer shell with fibreglass inner layers, weighing approximately 1,380 grams. The helmet integrates directly with Ultraviolette motorcycles, enabling real-time connectivity between rider and vehicle. It is compliant with the ECE 22.06 global standard and is subject to DoT and ISI certifications.
Ultraviolette has partnered with Cardo Systems to develop the helmet's communication capabilities. The integration combines Cardo's mesh network technology with Ultraviolette's smart systems, facilitating rider-to-rider, rider-to-group, and rider-to-vehicle connectivity.
The F77 MACH 2, F77 SuperStreet, and X-47 Crossover motorcycles will be the first models to support this feature, with plans for a phased rollout across the entire product range.
The helmet incorporates Dynamic Alert Sequencing (D.A.S), a software system designed to read, assess, and prioritize alerts in real-time. When riders are connected to local mesh networks or engaged in phone calls, the D.A.S suite evaluates incoming notifications from the motorcycle and routes them to the rider's Cardo unit accordingly.
"At Ultraviolette, we aim to make mobility progressively more intelligent through the seamless integration of technology and design," said Narayan Subramaniam, Co-founder and CEO at Ultraviolette. He emphasized that the UV Crossfade represents the beginning of enhanced connectivity between rider and machine, particularly highlighting its ability to communicate real-time alerts from the UV Hypersense radar systems on the X-47 motorcycle.
Shachar Harari, VP Business Development at Cardo Systems, noted that the partnership brings a new dimension of connectivity to motorcycles, enabling features such as Blind Spot Detection, Status Alerts, and other Advanced Rider Assistance Systems.
The UV Crossfade is priced at INR 19,900 and is available for purchase through Ultraviolette's online platform. At EICMA, the company also showcased its motorcycle and scooter lineup, including the X-47, F77 MACH 2, F77 SuperStreet, F99, Tesseract, Shockwave, and X-47 Crossover.
Ultraviolette Automotive, founded in 2016 by Narayan Subramaniam and Niraj Rajmohan, specializes in electric vehicle platforms and battery technology. The company is backed by investors including Lingotto (a subsidiary of Exor N.V.), Qualcomm Ventures, Zoho Corporation, TVS Motors, TDK Ventures, and Speciale Invest.
