TVS Motor Company’s TVS Racing International Championship (TRIC) made its European debut at the Misano World Circuit in Misano Adriatico, Italy, with the October 2-4 round featuring 14 riders from 12 nationalities across four continents. The riders competed on the race-spec TVS Apache RR 310.
The Misano round extends TRIC’s racing programme into Europe as TVS Motor expands its international motorcycle operations. The company currently has a presence across more than 90 international markets, according to the release.
TRIC has previously been held across Malaysia, Thailand, Japan and Indonesia, covering four countries and five rounds. With the addition of Italy, the championship now has a European round, bringing riders from different nationalities onto the same race platform.
TVS TRIC Expands Into Europe
TVS Motor’s Head of Premium Business, Vimal Sumbly, said the European round represents an expansion of the championship that began in 2022 as an Asia-focused series with riders from nine countries. According to Sumbly, the series has since expanded to riders from 16 countries, with the move to Europe forming part of the company’s broader racing and engineering strategy.
Ron Hogg, Promotions Director of Two Wheels Motor Racing (TWMR), said the European expansion brings riders with different racing backgrounds together and gives them an opportunity to compete against varied riding styles and techniques. He also said the experience at Misano could be relevant to the riders’ future participation in the FIM Asia Road Racing Championship.
The Italy round is part of the wider international expansion of TVS Racing. The release states that the TVS Apache series has crossed 7 million customers worldwide, while the TVS Apache Owners Group (AOG) has more than 500,000 members.
