TVS Motor's Gaurav Gupta Elected Vice President of Global Motorcycle Industry Body

Gaurav Gupta, President of India's Two-Wheeler Business at TVS Motor, has been elected Vice President of the International Motorcycle Manufacturers Association (IMMA), representing the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM).

The appointment positions Gupta among the leadership of the Geneva-based organization that serves as the collective voice for the global motorcycle industry. IMMA's membership spans manufacturers' associations from 14 countries and regions across four continents, including Australia, Brazil, Canada, Europe, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand, the United States, and Vietnam.

The association focuses on advancing safe, sustainable, and economically viable motorcycling worldwide. It works to develop inclusive policies and promotes the harmonization of vehicle requirements across international regulatory frameworks.

IMMA has maintained a presence in global transportation policy for nearly seven decades. The organization contributes to the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe's Inland Transport Committee, particularly through the World Forum for Harmonization of Vehicle Regulations (WP.29) and the Global Forum for Road Traffic Safety (WP.1).

Beyond its UN engagement, IMMA participates in multiple international bodies including the International Automotive Lighting and Light Signalling Expert Group (GTB), the International Transport Forum (ITF), and the International Traffic Safety Data and Analysis Group (IRTAD) under the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).

In 2013, the association joined the United Nations Road Safety Collaboration to strengthen partnerships with the World Health Organization and improve road safety for powered two- and three-wheeler users globally.

Gupta's election brings Indian representation to the vice presidency of an organization that shapes global standards and policies affecting the motorcycle and scooter manufacturing sector worldwide.
