TVS Motor records 7% YoY growth in December sales

Electric vehicle (EV) sales grew to 20,171 units in December, a jump of 79% on-year from 11,288 units.

TVS Motor Company's December sales increased by 7% on-year to 321,687 units. While two-wheeler sales increased by 8%, three-wheeler sales fell by 18% in December, 2024. 

The company witnessed a rise in total two-wheeler sales to 312,002 units in December from 290,064 units in the same month last year. Of this, it sold 215,075 units in the domestic market, a marginal increase from 214,988 units sold in the year-ago period. 

While scooters registered a strong double digit growth of 30% at 133,919 units, the sales of motorcycles declined to 144,811 units, from 148,049 units in December 2023. However, in December, three-wheeler sales declined by 18% on-year to 9,685 units.

The electric vehicle (EV) sales grew to 20,171 units, a jump of 79% on-year from 11,288 units. The major electric two-wheeler maker, earlier said EVs will be the top priority for the company as it plans to expand its EV portfolio with more affordable two-wheelers. 

The company exported 96,927 units of two-wheelers, a 29% increase from 75,076 units sold in the year-ago period. The total exports of TVS Motor grew by 22% YoY to 104,393 units in December, 2024. 

During the quarter ended December, 2025 the company observed a robust growth of 11% with sales of 11.8 lakh two-wheelers. Of this, EVs two-wheeler sales accounted for 76,000 units sales, as against 48,000 units in the third quarter of FY24. However, three-wheeler sales fell to 29,000 units from 38,000 units in the same quarter, previous year.
