TVS Motor expands portfolio with new launches in Q3

TVS Motor Company has strengthened its product lineup with multiple strategic launches during the third quarter of FY25, including a new engine platform and enhanced variants of its popular models.

The company unveiled the new TVS RTXD4 engine at the 2024 Motosoul bike festival in Goa, marking a significant addition to its powertrain portfolio. The launch demonstrates TVS Motor's continued focus on technological innovation and performance enhancement.

This engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox and a slipper clutch too. It isn’t yet clear if TVS will offer a quickshifter on future models powered by the RT-XD4. This new engine has thoroughly modern architecture with features such as dual overhead camshaft, a plasma-coated cylinder and dual cooling jackets inside the cylinder.

While all this is rather complex technology to explain in this story, TVS claims that the engine has a very flat torque curve, which should make riding in the real world quite effortless. The first bike to be powered by the RT-XD4 should be launching quite soon and in fact, TVS has even filed a trademark for the name Apache RTX.

In the competitive 125cc segment, TVS introduced the Raider iGO variant, positioning it as the fastest motorcycle in its category. The launch is aimed at strengthening the company's presence in the premium commuter segment, which has seen growing demand for feature-rich products.

The company also updated its popular Apache lineup with the launch of the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V, featuring Upside Down Suspension (USD) and refreshed color schemes and graphics. The Apache RTR 160 4V's enhancement comes as the Apache RR 310 won the '2-wheeler variant/update of the year' at the Autocar Awards 2025.

The new launches have contributed to the company's strong performance in the third quarter, with motorcycle sales growing by 6% to 5.56 lakh units. The company's overall sales volume increased by 10% to 12.12 lakh units during the quarter.

The product offensive comes as TVS Motor continues to strengthen its position across segments. The success of its product strategy is reflected in recent accolades, including the TVS Jupiter 110 winning 'Scooter of the Year' at both the Jagran HiTech Awards 2024 and Autocar Awards 2025.
