TVS Motor Company Reports Record Q1 Sales of 12.77 Lakh Units

TVS Motor Company announced record quarterly sales of 12.77 lakh units for the first quarter of FY 2025-26, marking significant growth across multiple segments. The Chennai-based manufacturer reported monthly sales of 402,001 units in June 2025, representing a 20% increase from the 333,646 units sold in June 2024.

The company's two-wheeler segment drove much of the growth, with total sales rising 20% year-on-year to 385,698 units in June 2025, compared to 322,168 units in the same month last year. Domestic two-wheeler sales increased 10% to 281,012 units from 255,734 units in June 2024.

Within the two-wheeler category, motorcycles showed strong performance with 24% growth, climbing from 152,701 units to 188,774 units. Scooters performed even better, registering 26% growth from 128,986 units to 162,291 units in June.

However, the electric vehicle segment faced challenges, with sales declining to 14,400 units in June 2025 from 15,859 units the previous year. TVS attributed this to supply chain disruptions, particularly magnet availability issues, though it noted that retail sales of its TVS iQube model remain stable.

The company's international operations showed remarkable growth, with total exports surging 54% to 117,145 units from 76,074 units in June 2024. Two-wheeler exports specifically grew 58%, increasing from 66,434 units to 104,686 units.

Three-wheeler sales also contributed to the positive performance, growing 42% to 16,303 units from 11,478 units in June 2024.

For the complete first quarter of FY 2025-26, TVS Motor's two-wheeler sales increased 17% to 12.32 lakh units from 10.56 lakh units in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year. Three-wheeler sales rose 46% to 0.45 lakh units from 0.31 lakh units, while total exports grew 39% to 3.52 lakh units from 2.54 lakh units.

TVS Motor Company, listed on BSE and NSE, operates manufacturing facilities in India and Indonesia and has been in the automotive business for over a century. The company also owns Norton Motorcycles in the UK and has e-mobility subsidiaries Swiss E-Mobility Group and EGO Movement. It currently operates across 80 countries worldwide.
